HORMONE HEALTH AND YOUR SKIN
Your skin is a lovely organ. Not flawless wrapping paper. The function of your skin goes way deeper than purely fulfilling some beauty industry standard. And the health of your skin is way more important than what it looks like.
When you view your skin as an organ, and a messenger about deeper health markers, you can appreciate all the skin issues as loving messages that calls for your attention and your support.
Your fine dehydrated lines around your eyes tells you the wine you’ve had over the weekend isn’t the most supportive choice. The acne around your chin might call attention to your body needing more support to detox excess estrogen. The melasma and age spots are an alarm bell signaling excess iron storage in your tissues.
Instead of bombarding your skin with procedures and products that harm the skin and produces “the look” of healthy skin, without actually healing the root cause, it would be best to TRULY respect your skin and address your health, instead of chasing surface symptoms.
We have an abundance of hormones in our bodies, all working in synergy to send messages around to our cells. What to do, how to grow, where to send energy. And like our skin is a messenger to us, so our hormones communicate constantly.
Learning to understand the language of your body, you can nourish and support your body (and by extension your skin) to run smoothly, thereby reducing the amount of distress signals it must send out!
